Summary
Concerning the recent notice of demolition of the Hippodrome, the leader of the City Council was quoted last night (Evening Telegraph, January 8) as saying that "...we can't simply reject such an application out of hand without a sound planning reason. The owner could go to appeal" - which seems to be a negative statement.
The most obvious "sound planning reason" for keeping the Hippodrome is that the building was listed as recently as 1996 and that the council's conservation officer of the time was directly involved.See the full content of this document
