WITH reference to M Jackson's letter ("Golf club should not take over our beautiful park", Opinions, May 17): M Jackson complains that they are being denied the opportunity to "enjoy the full amenities of beautiful surroundings".

If, as M Jackson states, they are a regular user of Allestree Park, I'm sure she/he doesn't need signs to inform them that it is now a golf club as this has been the case since 1948. As a regular user of the golf facilities I have yet to hear of any golfer asking members of the public to be quiet.
