A WAR memorial bearing the names of servicemen from Darley Abbey who died fighting for their country has been refurbished.
The stone cross and in the grounds of St Matthew's Church has been cleaned and its inset iron sword has been spruced up. The plinth - which contains about a dozen names - has been repointed and the lettering on the dedications has been improved. The work has cost Pounds 3,000 Last year, the name of Iain Boldy, a sailor killed during the 1982 Falklands War, was added to the memorial.See the full content of this document
