A SIKH group says work is well under way in turning an historic pub into a temple.

The Ramgarhia Sabha Sikh Temple has taken over the former Sherwood Foresters, in Normanton. Red Rose Care had originally planned to knock down the 120-year-old former pub in St Thomas Road and build a care home in its place. But locals protested and plan was withdrawn.
