TEAM Sky Tour de France racer Ben Swift was briefly a member of local club Ashfield RC as a child - and returned to the club to hand out prizes at their 25th anniversary presentation evening at Underwood Miners Welfare The most notable awards went to club manager Arthur Gamble and president John Wilson, the two who launched the club 25 years ago.

The club stalwarts were presented with engraved tankards in recognition of their service.
