When Burton vicar's daughter Victoria Simmonds made her stage debut at the tender of age of 12 playing Pinocchio for a group of village players, little did she know that 20 odd years later she would star as the famous puppet in the world premiere of a new family opera.
The 37-year-old singer from the Burton village of Branston takes the title role in Opera North's acclaimed production The Adventures of Pinocchio, which brings her to Nottingham Theatre Royal next weekend.See the full content of this document
