A BRIGHT array of beaming celebrities brought Christmas to Derby this weekend. Thousands of people turned out in the Westfield Centre and the Market Place to see two sets of lights switched on, with just five weeks to go to the big day.

Christmas fervour began in the Westfield Centre, where the entertainment was kicked off by Derbyshire women's choir DaleDiva - winners of Channel Five talent show Don't Stop Believing - who performed nine songs.
