RESIDENTS and families of some of the first students to attend a Pounds 22 million engineering academy have been given a sneak preview of its facilities ahead of its opening.

The JCB Academy, in Rocester, will begin teaching budding engineers from Derbyshire and East Staffordshire from Thursday. The academy's aim is to help nurture the UK engineers and business leaders of the future.
