A Prolific thief with a 22-year history of breaking into cars has been jailed for a year for stealing electricity - by the same judge who was lenient to him three months ago.

Judge John Burgess gave Jason Ingle the chance to prove himself last November by sentencing him to a community rehabilitation order rather than prison for car theft. This week, Judge Burgess said Ingle had wasted the opportunity and jailed the 37-year-old for a year - half of which can be served on licence.
