A SOLDIER from Derby has narrowly missed out on a win at The Sun Military Awards. Private Eddie Binns was shortlisted for Best Reservist at the ceremony, which took place on Monday and will be shown on TV tonight.

But the 45-year-old lost out to Able Seaman Michelle Ping, from the Royal Navy Reserve. Pte Binns is a builder by trade but also serves with 4 Mercian and was attached to 4th Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, in Afghanistan this year.
