THE widow of a young father who died in a car crash has accused a council of carrying out improvements on the road where he died "on the sly".

Derby City Council closed Acorn Way, in Oakwood, yesterday to carry out roadworks but Michelle Pamon said the authority had not given any explanation why the work was taking place.
