A PROPOSAL to turn land in Ripley into a town green to protect it from development has been refused. But people living near the site have vowed they will continue to fight plans for the site.

Brailsford-based Clowes Westerman was granted outline planning permission to build offices and warehouses in Nottingham Road, Ripley, two years ago by Amber Valley Borough Council.
