I WAS disgusted to read in the Derby Telegraph that Derby City Council is considering scrapping the twinning partnership with Osnabruck to save money ("Osnabruck twinning link is facing the chop in recession", January 5).

My daughter spent a year in Osnabruck as the envoy for Derby and made good friends.
