LAST summer I was a passenger in my friends' car, travelling east on the A52 out of Derby. A mindless cretin threw a brick from a bridge, which by the grace of God hit and smashed the windscreen on my, the passenger side, allowing my friend to keep control of the car. It was like a bomb going off and I was covered in glass. Had it hit the driver's side the consequences would have been unthinkable. There were four of us in the car, including my friend's 14-year-old grandson who was, understandably, terribly upset.
We, of course, called the police, who when they eventually turned up, didn't really want to know and made no effort to find the culprits. That was the last we saw or heard of them!See the full content of this document
