LOCAL: Trains started rolling at Derby Midland Station after a 32- hour shutdown - the longest in the station's history - to swap from semaphore to power signaling. The work was carried out without a hitch. SPORT: Seventeen-year-old Roger Patrick was the surprise choice in the Derby County party for their pre-season tour of Germany and Holland. Patrick was going "largely for the experience", assistant manager Peter Taylor said. WORLD: Two step-brothers from Sardinia, who lived in London and Germany, met for the first time in 28 years when their cars collided at a crossroads in Turin, Italy.
