Bygones has received more memories of Derby's iconic department store, the Midland Drapery, this time from one of its former employees, Jean Hough, of Alfreton, who remembers her years there with great fondness.

I WAS interested to read the article headed "Did Midland Drapery have a zoo in 1953?" I went to work for the Midland Drapery in 1953, at the age of 17, and, the following year, we had what was called Rainbow Far m.
