Summary
Secret Service was looking for an impromptu Sunday lunch on the way back from a day out. Passing through Castle Donington I spied a traditional-looking pub with no flashy commercial features and thought it would be worth a try.
Inside was a real coal fire and we saw a light but cosy corner to slouch into. Through the doors from the main bar was an airy contemporary restaurant area with dark wood floors, a bright aquarium and a warm view of the kitchen. Opting for the more traditional feel though, we settled down into the bar area.
