I HAVE been a Derby County season ticket holder for around six seasons, not half as long as my uncle has been a supporter - he attended his first match in 1934 when he was seven and has been an avid fan ever since.

As my uncle's 81st birthday was approaching, I thought it would be a nice gesture to get it announced during half-time at a forthcoming match.
