Summary
In answer to the question from David Middleton about the founding of Derby Bach Choir ("Query over start date for choir", Opinion, December 3), it is correct that a choir did exist for a short time just prior to the Second World War and one assumes it must have ceased when war started.
The present choir was started by Wallace Ross at the instigation of Provost Beddoes who was keen on enhancing the musical life of the cathedral.See the full content of this document
