RYAN'S BAR IN ST PETER'S CHURCHYARD There was a terrible fire here in the 1930s. The odd-job man was trapped in the building and to try and save himself he wrapped himself up in a roll of carpet.
It did not work and he tragically burned to death. He had always been known for being a cheerful chap and constantly whistled while he worked. On regular occasions, customers and staff in modernday pub have heard whistling inside the building.See the full content of this document
