Daredevils will today be using home-made go-karts when they hurtle down a one-in-five hill at speeds of up to 40mph.

The annual Hoar Cross Soapbox Challenge will involve more than 40 drivers in home-made vehicles tackling the half-mile School Hill in the village, near Burton.
