A PRISON officer who had an affair with a "violent" inmate and put him up at her home for ten days when he was on the run from jail, is now behind bars herself.

Andrea Clarke formed a sexual relationship with criminal Samuel Taylor when she she worked at Dovegate Prison, near Uttoxeter. Taylor was serving a sevenyear sentence for offences including robbery, burglary and conspiracy to defraud. In total he had 39 convictions for 193 offences.
