Summary
Seeing the old photograph of Nottingham Road in Bygones (December 4) reminded me of a story my father-in-law, Harry Tucker, used to tell me. He was born in 1892 and, as a child, used to walk regularly from Derby to Nottingham to see his auntie.
He said at the top of cemetery hill, they kept a horse and, if a tram car couldn't get up the hill, they used to hitch the horse to the tram and it would pull it up.See the full content of this document
