Much-loved Derby character Ted Rhodes, of Old Normanton, died recently, aged 99. Known for his active lifestyle, phenomenal memory and unstinting charity work, he is missed by many, including Anne Rudman (nee Cokayne), of Manchester, who has written this tribute.

I Was so sorry to hear of the death of Ted Rhodes from my sister, Jeanne Souls, who lives in Littleover and attended his recent funeral. Although it was a very emotional occasion, she said how pleasing it had been to hear and see so many family and friends paying tribute to such a wonderful man, and so richly deserving.
