AFTER helping to reduce emissions from 5,000 London black cabs, a Derby firm is now supplying the same environmentally friendly carbon- cutting technology to buses.

The TaxiCat system, produced by emissions control specialists Cawdell, cuts exhaust emissions from cabs manufactured between 1991 and 2001 to the same standard as modern vehicles. Following the introduction of the London Low Emission Zone, thousands of taxis in the capital have been fitted with the device to ensure emission levels comply with the Mayor's cleaner air strategy.
