A BROAD and modern education curriculum has been called for by a teaching union based in Iron Gate, Derby.
Philip Parkin, general secretary of Voice: the union for education professionals, made his demand following the start of the Government's review of the national secondary school curriculum. Ministers want to see more focus on facts and figures and a slimming down of the curriculum to contain only the "essential knowledge" children should acquire, leaving teachers to decide how to teach it.See the full content of this document
