"It's a wonderful historic building, completed in 1870 by Sir George Gilbert Scott and is one of the most handsome Victorian churches in Derbyshire," the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire told me as she enthused about the Christmas flower festival she's supporting at St Peter's in December.
