Archaeologists have started digging the first trenches at Derby's Cathedral Green in a bid to find original features of the Silk Mill.
During the next two weeks, pits will be dug around the paths and plant beds next to the Silk Mill to plot the course of a man-made mill race, which channelled the water that turned the millwheel in the River Derwent.See the full content of this document
