WITH reference to the letter from Brenda Ray, of Mickleover (August 2) regarding the depression near the Honeycomb pub, on Ladybank Road, which legend claims was created by a German bomb: No bombs were ever dropped in that area, at least not before July 1943.

That was when I was called up for Army service for two years during the war and two years after it.
