I Have always enjoyed reading my newspapers, ever since I was young. The habit dates from visiting relatives in Derby, and reading my uncle's daily newspaper while I was there. Regular newspaper- reading has continued to this day. Every morning before breakfast, I stroll to the local post office and collect my daily and the Derby Telegraph, returning home to devour both breakfast and the contents of the morning paper over a leisurely start to the day. To follow are the headlines of the Telegraph, saving the bulk of the local news until teatime, when the routine is repeated - did I mention I am a creature of habit?
Reading the two newspapers keeps me in touch with what is happening in the world or the local news. There is no doubt that the local news usually makes for easier reading, with its emphasis away from the worst excesses of global headlines.See the full content of this document
