THE sound of cruel hecklers baying for suicide victim Shaun Dykes to jump is something that will never leave the memory of John Williamson, Trevor Rawson and Paul Kennedy.

Seventeen-year-old Shaun fell to his death from Derby's Westfield car park after hearing the taunts, in an incident that was to became a national controversy. A coroner ruled that members of the crowd contributed to his death.

Following Shaun's death, Derby's police chief Andy Hough said Derby had lost its innocence for a couple of hours on the day of the incident.

However, among the crowds that day were three men who took it upon themselves to step in and try to defuse the situation, pushing back onlookers who had surrounded the car park to watch.
