WITH regard to Chris Williamson's final relinquishment of his city council seat, following "soul searching", I wrote to him soon after the General Election to say that his retention was incompatible with 100% commitment to his new role, and that another councillor, Lucy Care, had resigned as soon as she announced her candidature.
