I DID not see it coming. The announcement that one of the first four enterprise zones in the UK would be on the Boots Campus in Lenton, Nottingham, has caught out one or two people.

Following on so quickly from the Budget, the unveiling of the Boots site appeared to be stage-managed. Its location may also be the first real test of the strength of collaboration within the new Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire Local Enterprise Partnership. Remember, only areas that had set up LEPs could apply for enterprise zone status.
