It was another record-breaking year for several schools in Derby, as 3,000 students received their A-level results today. University will beckon for many of the them but others will have to make serious decisions about their futures. Chellaston School head teacher Ray Ruszczynski is happy because this is a bumper year for his sixth form pupils with 62 per cent of all passes graded either A or B.

The number of A grades rose from 25% in 2007 to 33% this year, giving the school it's best-ever set of A-level results and a 100% pass rate.
