The Friday lunch club is growing. It began more than 10 years ago when old mate John Cheadle - we started Bemrose School together in 1956 - rang to ask if I fancied finishing off the working week with a convivial pint. It was probably meant to be a one-off, but we agreed to meet up again the next Friday. And, except when he's jetting off somewhere exotic to organise another Liverpool FC trip, we've been doing it ever since.
