Thief Takes Cash From Ticket Sale

Cash from the sale of Derbyshire County Show tickets was stolen from a shop in Belper. Money was taken from Belper Sports, in King Street, between 3pm and 3.30pm on Saturday.

M1 Restrictions in Place Again

Restrictions are in place on the M1 again this week as work to widen the motorway continues. Tonight the exit slip road of the southbound carriageway will be closed from 9pm to 5am at junction 26 at Nuthall to allow resurfacing work to take place.

Two hundred jobs could be lost from the city if plans to demolish buildings behind Derby Conference Centre go ahead - the centre's managing director has claimed. Arab Investments, which owns the land in London Road, has submitted plans to Derby City Council to demolish buildings connected to the rail industry.

First Aid at Event for 50

A Councillor has queried why the St John Ambulance Service had to be hired for an event which attracted 50 people. Amber Valley Borough Council was told that most of those present were a choir and a band for the event at the River Gardens in Belper.
