Youth Groups Among County's Projects Given Pounds280,000 of Big Lottery Money

A Youth group in Matlock has been given pounds8,700 to help put on more activities and create a website. Matlock Youth Hub works with young people aged 11 to 19 and has been given the money from the National Lottery Awards for All scheme.

Anti-Bribery Law Warning

Company directors who fail to act now to address new anti- bribery legislation risk damaging the reputation of their businesses and possibly prison, a firm of Castle Donington business advisers has warned. Experts at PricewaterhouseCoopers are advising companies to review processes to prevent bribery now. Under the proposed legislation, company directors, employees and others will face up to 10 years in jail if guilty of an offence.

A Site manager has spoken of his shock at discovering that a piece of metal he was keeping on top of a filing cabinet was an unexploded Second World War hand grenade. Street to Close for Water Repair

Two postmen, who between them failed to deliver more than 12,000 items of mail, have been handed suspended jail terms. Christopher Wills was given 300 hours' community service for burning more than 1,000 letters and not delivering a further 1,500.

A Woman suffered whiplash injuries when two cars collided on Far Laund, Belper, on Sunday shortly before midnight. A Fiat Punto hit a wall after the accident, which also involved a Peugeot 106.

Police Get Base in Town Centre

A New office that will give police a permanent presence in Ripley town centre is to open tomorrow. The office, based in the former Tourist Information Centre in Ripley Town Hall, has been leased to Derbyshire Constabulary by Amber Valley Borough Council.
